Fix your MW2 Xbox 360 Connection Issues

I bet that a lot of people are having problems with connecting to a game in MW2. I know that I did. I would get kicked out of not only the game but also Xbox Live completely. I finally figured out how to solve that problem.

There are several things that involve some confusing work but if you do them, your gaming experience will be improved dramatically. The three things I'm telling you to do may seem really complicated, but I'm going to give you some info that will tell you exactly how to do them.

First, you have to set up a static ip address for your Xbox. Secondly, you'll have to set your Xbox outside of your router's firewall. Lastly, you have to forward some certain ports on your router so the Xbox can access the internet connection correctly.

Setting up a static ip address:
Go to this page and follow it's instructions.
http://portforward.com/networking/staticip-xbox360.htm
Write down what the new static ip address is for your Xbox.

Once you have done this you will have to forward 2 ports on your router.

Forwarding Ports:
1. Figure out the Company Name and Model Number for your router.
2. Look at this list and find your router: http://www.portforward.com/
3. Once you've clicked on your router it will take you to a list of what it is that you're forwarding ports for.
4. On the right hand side you need to scroll all the way down until you see the option that says, "XBOX 360 Modern Warfare 2". Click on it.
5. After you've done that it will go through instructions on how to forward the necessary ports for your specific router. For this you will need to remember what the new static ip address of your Xbox is.

Setting your Xbox outside your router's firewall:
1. Go into your router's webpage, like you've done before.
2. On the left hand side there should be either an option saying DMZ, Firewall Settings, or something like that. Click on that.
3. Now it will give you the option for setting a specific ip address outside the firewall.
4. Enter the static ip address for your Xbox.

Now you should be all set to play without any problems at all.

I hope this helped you.
